Antigonish Acupuncture

Laura has extensive acupuncture training through Acupuncture Canada; AA1 Foundations of Anatomical Acupuncture and AA2 Clinical Applications in Anatomical Acupuncture courses in acupuncture and is CAFCI certified. Dr. Jeremy Hillyard, medical site lead for St. Martha's, said doctors have left in the past year for a variety of reasons, including better pay in other jurisdictions, issues with changes to licensing regulations, for places where they would spend less time on-call and for family reasons.
She has been involved in the community through volunteering with programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and the St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation as well as the St. Martha's Ladies Auxiliary from a very young age, this passion lead her to graduate from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a double major in the Acupuncture and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine programs as the youngest registered acupuncturist in Canada.



It was through a combination of personal transformation with naturopathic therapies, along with a passion for blending modern science with the traditional medical arts, which lead Freda to pursue and complete her studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM).
The NSAA was formed in 1992 when a small group of Nova Scotia acupuncturists met with the purpose of promoting acupuncture in Nova Scotia, educating the public, and ensuring that everyone would have access to ethical and fully qualified professionals.

Steve Biancolin is a Registered Acupuncturist with the Nova Scotia Association of Acupuncturists and the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncturists of BC. Further, Steve is a sincere advocate of TCM education and has been involved as an instructor and administrator of a Chinese Medicine College in British Columbia.

Katrina has always known that she is most passionate about caring for people and helping them feel safe and at ease but wasn't sure how to channel that energy until she discovered the world of holistic health and, in particular, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Carolyn is a graduate of the Canadian College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine in Victoria, British Columbia, where she completed the 3-year full-time study program and received her Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2001. Peter combines his clinical practice in Tunbridge Wells (where he has a special interest in working with people experiencing cancer) with herbal educational and political work.
