How to replace DJ mixer crossfader

Numark manufacture a wide range of DJ controllers, CD players, turntables, mixers, speakers, headphones and iOS devices. The story, in fact, seems to start with audio engineer Alex Rosner, who in 1971 built a primitive three-channel device with sliders and a cueing function called Rosie” to allow DJ Francis Grasso to easily switch from one record to the next in his residency at NYC club Haven.
The Audio Innovate Innofader PNP2 DJ Mixer Crossfader is very well constructed and features a solid steel 8mm fader stem (to withstand the punishment of heavy handed scratchers), and specially designed polished rails to ensure butter smooth performance.

Which spurred a market for equipment needed to do that job.” Like most music mixers of that era, especially those outside of the major club hubs of New York, L.A., or Miami, Fotais was forced to make due with a melange of early DJ equipment and homemade solutions.
An electromechanical component, generally a slider found on DJ mixers and controllers that moves from left to right used to mix several audio tracks. Scratch Pro Audio are proud to be the exclusive distributors in the UK and majority of Western Europe for the acclaimed innoFADER, the next generation of DJ crossfader technology.

I found a mixer crossfader(StageLine MPX-460) for reasonable price (8€). The image represents the volumes of the tracks along the x-axis of the cross-fader. 3) The future mixers where you plan on using the Innofader PNP are also compatible. When mixing you want to use the channel faders as they give you complete individual control of the channel volumes.
I'll second the recommendation on the mackie D4 though, I have the 2chan version and it's a real nice mixer, infinium fader in it is pretty sweet too. You have two switches above the crossfader; 1.) reverse the channels and the other 2.) change the slope for a hard cut or a soft curve for mixing.

The 4-channel Pro DJ Club mixer features a familiar layout with all new effects and even more control over your mix. The aim is now to align the beats and bars of the two records so that they are riding in parallel (Fig.2). Our main tips for learning to scratch are to use a scratch sample and then practice cutting your crossfader in and out of that sound.
Although sound quality is subjective, anyone who enjoyed the Rane sound will love this mixer. You can adjust it to suit your preference when scratching or mixing. If the mixer is set up correctly, DJ repair the channel faders will be tight (harder to move to allow more precise control of the volume level for that channel) and the crossfader will be loose (to allow for scratching).
However, I have found you can still perform the majority of scratch techniques with even the most basic controller. I use it because i like to cut tracks back and forth sometimes, especially if i'm playing some break beats. DJs also create mixes, remixes and tracks that are recorded for later sale and distribution.

I feel like anyone coming to the mixer from a controller setup like a DDJ-SX2 should feel fairly comfortable with the pads, but anyone coming from an older Rane mixer or even the DJM-S9 might feel a little overwhelmed at first. This mixer does a great job of combining the performance pad paradigm (first found on the classic Novation Twitch) and the more traditional, high quality battle mixers of old.
